Born in Grimswick, a fishing village on the SW coast of the Nomad Lands, son of a sailor\/fisherman.<\/dd>\n
1992 (12):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Father & brother killed in great raid on Kethalos. Left to find his uncle, believed to be in mercenary service in Caithness.<\/dd>\n
1993 (13):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Joined his uncle in Caithness; already a “big kid,” accepted as his uncle’s shield-bearer. Learned about mercenary work, and developed a taste for the local brew.<\/dd>\n
1994 (14):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Followed uncle into battle against Deneral of Mershall. Picked up warhammer from fallen foe & put to good use, protecting his wounded uncle from rebel forces. Later named it “Gramjarn” (Wrath-Iron).<\/dd>\n
1995 (15):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Uncle’s injury never healed well enough to allow him to continue his mercenary career, so he and Rainald returned home and attempted to revive the family fishing (& raiding) business.<\/dd>\n
2000 (20):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Finally made a move on the village hottie, Gertru\u00f0, who confessed that, Bj\u00f6rn, the eldest son of a jarl and heralded warrior, had preceded him. She explained that she had told Bj\u00f6rn that she would answer his proposal upon his return from his father’s foreign trade mission, in five years, and that if “word reached her ears” of Rainald’s Glory\u2122 before Bj\u00f6rn’s return, she would marry him instead. Rainald decided to wander South, and take up mercenary work.<\/dd>\n
2001 (21):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Captured by Saurians at the fall of Blythe, on his birthday; escaped before being eaten\/executed, aggressively-recovered Gramjarn, and fled north.<\/dd>\n
2003 (23):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Ended up in Wallace, doing occasional work escorting gold-miners and such. Called “North-Hammer” by fellow mercs.<\/dd>\n
2005 (25):<\/strong><\/dt>\n
Present. Pretty much given up all hope for Gertru\u00f0.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/td>\n
